SSDAC Town Hall Event Invitation

The Statewide Self-Determination Advisory Committee (SSDAC) is holding a Town Hall Event on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 11:00am-1:00pm. Please see the attached flyers (in English and Spanish) for more information and the link for the event. These flyers are also available on the SSDAC webpage at https://scdd.ca.gov/ssdac/.
At the December 2, 2025 SSDAC meeting, Committee members and attendees were informed about the renewal of the SDP Waiver, which is the application that the Department of Developmental Services must submit to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in order to obtain federal funding for the Self-Determination Program. The SSDAC has planned this Town Hall event to coincide with the public comment period for the SDP Waiver to ensure that the Department and CMS are informed about the public’s ongoing support of the program. The SSDAC invites you to come and share how the SDP has impacted the lives of you and/or your family members or clients and why continued funding of the program matters to you. These stories will help inform the waiver renewal process and show the real-world impact of SDP on people’s lives.

El Comité Asesor Estatal de Autodeterminación (SSDAC, por sus siglas en inglés) llevará a cabo un Foro Público el martes 17 de febrero de 2026, de 11:00a.m. a 1:00p.m. Por favor, consulte los volantes adjuntos (en inglés y en español) para obtener más información y el enlace del evento. En la reunión del SSDAC del 2 de diciembre de 2025, se informó a los miembros del Comité y a las personas asistentes sobre la renovación de la Exención del Programa de Autodeterminación (SDP), que es la solicitud que el Departamento de Servicios del Desarrollo debe presentar ante los Centros de Servicios de Medicare y Medicaid (CMS, por sus siglas en inglés) para obtener financiamiento federal para el Programa de Autodeterminación. El SSDAC ha planificado este Foro Público para que coincida con el período de comentarios públicos sobre la Exención del SDP, con el fin de asegurar que el Departamento y CMS estén informados sobre el apoyo continuo del público al programa. El SSDAC le invita a participar y compartir cómo el SDP ha impactado la vida suya y/o la de sus familiares o clientes, y por qué la continuidad del financiamiento del programa es importante para usted. Estas historias ayudarán a informar el proceso de renovación de la exención y a mostrar el impacto real del SDP en la vida de las personas.
